Attention Pool Owners
In December 2008 the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool
and Safety Act became law requiring that all public
pool and spa owners have an approved antientrapment
drain cover installed on the bottom drains
of their pools and spas.
The drain is designed to make certain that when the
pool filter and pump are running, someone swimming
over the drain is not drawn in by the suction, causing
them to become trapped or seriously injured.
While this is an act for public pools, it is absolutely
necessary for the private pool owner to make certain
that they also have an appropriate drain in the
bottom of their pool.
If you have any questions, please contact your pool
installer and have a safe and enjoyable summer.
